The Barbour County Commission handled a series of motions and votes at its March 10, 2026 meeting in Clayton. Below are the principal actions recorded in the meeting minutes and their outcomes.
• Agenda amended to add multiple items (mapping & appraisal clerk job description modification; burial-plot request for 12 Pike Court, Clio; discussion of an MOU/contract with the Sheriff and the Alabama Department of Corrections; removal of February pay register). • District 4 appointment to the Barbour County DHR Board tabled. Moved by Commissioner Eric Pomeroy, seconded by Commissioner Karen Collins; carried unanimously.
• Temporary probate clerk employment approved to cover a leave beginning April 29, 2026, for approximately six weeks. Moved by Commissioner Stan Adams, seconded by Commissioner Karen Collins; carried unanimously.
• County Road Department authorized to mow inside Old Creek Town Park (Eufaula) at an estimated county cost of $1,000. Moved by Commissioner Jason Bennett, seconded by Commissioner Frances Shipman; carried unanimously.
• County Administrator authorized to correct and credit Solid Waste customer accounts as needed. Moved by Commissioner Jason Bennett, seconded by Commissioner Karen Collins; carried unanimously.
• Offer made for Solid Waste Compliance Officer to Kim Singleton at $20.00 per hour. Moved by Commissioner Frances Shipman, seconded by Commissioner Eric Pomeroy; carried unanimously.
• Human Resources Officer/Safety Director selection removed from the table to continue accepting applications. Moved by Commissioner Rachel Smith, seconded by Commissioner Eric Pomeroy; carried unanimously.
