Good Hope council approves minutes and August financials in brief Sept. 23 meeting

The Good Hope City Council on Sept. 23 unanimously approved the Sept. 9 meeting minutes and adopted the August financial statements, heard brief portfolio reports from council members and adjourned after a 23-minute session.
The Good Hope City Council convened its regular meeting on Sept. 23, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. at Good Hope City Hall. Mayor Jerry Bartlett called the meeting to order and Council Member Terry Shabel offered the invocation.
Council Member Taft Dillashaw moved to approve the minutes from the council's Sept. 9, 2024 meeting; Council Member Susan Eller seconded. The council voted unanimously in favor, and the motion passed.
Council Member Terry Shabel moved to adopt the August financial statements; Taft Dillashaw seconded. The council again recorded unanimous yea votes and adopted the financials.
During the reports portion of the meeting, council members noted their assigned areas: Terry Shabel (Place One) oversees finance; Eric Phillips (Place Two) oversees streets; Susan Eller (Place Three) oversees utilities; Greg Brown (Place Four) is listed for community events but was absent; and Taft Dillashaw (Place Five) covers park and recreation. City Attorney Rita Nicholas was present. Visitor David Antillia was listed in the attendance.
Council Member Taft Dillashaw moved to adjourn the meeting; Eric Phillips seconded. The council adjourned at 6:53 p.m. following a unanimous vote. The meeting record is attested by the City Clerk and carries the mayor's approval.
