The Regional School District No. 17 Board of Education voted unanimously on Oct. 28, 2025, to elect Dr. Patricia Sullivan-Kowalski to serve as Superintendent of Schools for Region 17 Public Schools, with a term beginning Dec. 1, 2025.
Board Member Lisa Connelly moved the appointment and Dr. Kathleen Zandi seconded. The motion cites Connecticut General Statutes Section 10-157 as the authority for the election and authorizes the Board chair to execute the related employment agreement on behalf of the Board. The motion passed on a roll-call vote recorded as 10-0-0; Board member Joseph Centofanti was recorded as absent.
Board Chair Suzanne Sack read a brief statement summarizing Dr. Sullivan-Kowalski’s qualifications.
