Otis Cultural Council outlines summer programs, seeks volunteers for Farmer’s Market table

At its June 18, 2025 in-person meeting the Otis Cultural Council discussed several upcoming community programs and volunteer needs, including beautification projects, a summer concert series and the Farmer’s Market table.
Sharron DeLevie is gathering photographs of the town’s flower barrels; Chair Jeanne Randorf said she will forward those pictures to the Otis Observer for publicity. Tricia Smith asked council members to volunteer to staff a community table at the Farmer’s Market and requested a bulleted list of the council’s responsibilities to distribute to volunteers.
On the concert series, Arlene Tolopko said she will contact The Juckets to check availability; the minutes note that the council paid that band $500 per concert last year. The council formed an Events Committee to support programming: Carole Burke will chair the committee, with Arlene Tolopko and Susan Hicks as members and Margie Klein assisting.
Deb Fogel reported on recycling income, saying the recycling program brings in approximately $1,250 per collection and operates about three or four times per year. The minutes record these figures as approximate.
The council also received thank-you notes from schoolchildren and set its next meeting for July 16, 2025. The minutes do not record further budget details for the programs or commitments of specific volunteers beyond the Events Committee assignments.
