At its April meeting the Whittier Regional Vocational Technical School Committee approved a set of routine agenda items by roll-call votes.
Minutes and financial reports: The committee approved the March 12, 2025 minutes and the payments-of-bills/treasurer’s report for March. The treasurer’s report was moved by Miss True and seconded by Mr. Fitzgerald; roll-call votes recorded all present members as voting yes.
School calendar: The committee approved the 2025–26 draft calendar (new-teacher training Aug. 19–20; teachers return Aug. 26; open house Nov. 2; graduation dates in late May). The motion was moved by Miss Lis and seconded by Mr. Murphy and passed on roll call.
Food service contract amendment: The committee approved Amendment #2 to the one-year food-service management contract with Woodson’s Culinary. Business manager Cara Cosmus said the management fee will be $12,772 (previously $12,238) and the administrative fee $59,494 (previously $57,427), citing changes in the U.S. consumer price index for food away from home. Cosmus also reported a recent administrative review with no serious findings and only minor housekeeping items; the contract was approved by roll call.
Field trips and graduation requirements: The committee approved two field trips (auto tech to New England Dragway on May 30; SkillsUSA overnight at Best Western Royal Plaza Trade Center with about 55 students) and the second and final reading of updated graduation requirements. All recorded votes on these items carried.
