The Otis Recreation Commission met July 24, 2025, at Otis Town Hall and unanimously approved the minutes from its June 26 meeting. Chair Dana Pustinger called the meeting to order at 6:32 PM, and the commission noted the presence of members Robin Martin and Michael Cohen and guests Stacey Schultze and Cynthia Fletcher.
Commissioners reported that purchases for Bingo Night and the Mexican Fiesta have been charged to the FY25 budget; no specific balances were provided for FY25 or FY26 at the meeting. The commission said there were four FunZ Trampoline Park jump passes remaining and that more passes have been ordered to restock the program.
On event logistics, the commission described plans for an Obstacle Challenge: one volunteer has committed so far, Heather has ordered needed supplies, and Chair Dana Pustinger and Michael Cohen will arrive at 8:00 AM to set up on the event day. The commission said a total of 12 events are planned for the day and that a Snow Cone truck is expected to arrive about 10:30 AM. Pustinger and Cohen will meet on Saturday afternoon to transport supplies and rehearse the course.
The commission postponed ordering new shirts until more committee members join. Brandi will notify the Selectmen about open committee positions so they can be posted on the town website.
Pustinger proposed Nov. 1 as a tentative date for Trunk or Treat from 5–7 PM; she said she will ask Brandi to place the date on the Selectmen’s agenda and will confirm with Eric whether the Ridge parking lot and the haunted lodge are available. That date and the site remain subject to Selectmen approval and confirmation from town staff.
The commission set its next meeting for Thursday, Sept. 4, 2025 at 6:30 PM and adjourned at 7:39 PM.
