Committee adopts acceptable internet use policy, approves first reading of medicine‑administration policy

On Oct. 6 the Farmington River Regional School District School Committee adopted policy IJNDB (Acceptable Internet Use/Technology) as its second reading. Carl Nett moved to approve the second reading and adoption; Douglas Miner seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
The committee also conducted a first reading of proposed policy JLCD, Administering Medicines to Students, which Nurse Grace Terry brought forward. Committee members said the proposal felt more procedural than policy and asked Nurse Terry to work with Denise Hardie on modifications; the committee approved the first reading to allow time for revision before a final vote.
Committee members scheduled policy IJND and IJNDC for discussion and vote at the next meeting. No specific changes to IJNDB were discussed during the meeting; the committee treated the adoption as final in this session.
