The Farmington River Regional School District School Committee voted unanimously Nov. 3 to adopt Policy JLCD, governing the administration of medicines to students.
Carl Nett moved to adopt the second reading of JLCD and then moved to adopt the policy; Douglas Miner seconded both motions. Committee members Denise Hardie, Kate Meierdiercks, Douglas Miner, Carl Nett and Stacey Schultze voted in favor and the motions passed without objection. Members discussed ensuring the policy text remained policy — not procedure — before voting.
The committee thanked Nurse Grace Terry for her work drafting the policy. The new JLCD policy will guide how school staff handle student medications; the minutes do not specify the operative effective date beyond formal adoption.
