Selectmen approve host-community agreements with RNR Ventures and 1010 Cannabis

Town officials said RNR Ventures returned the town’s HCA template without changes and requested no modifications; the board voted to approve that agreement. The board then considered a separate HCA for 1010 Cannabis. The applicant had asked that all zoning bylaws be removed from the agreement on the grounds the business predated local zoning. Town staff explained that zoning authority is a separate process and any changes or zoning determinations would still proceed through the town’s zoning procedures; the applicant accepted the town’s model and the board approved the HCA.
Board members noted the state Cannabis Control Commission (referred to in the meeting as the CCC) has recently altered rules that the board said made some older local HCAs no longer valid under the new regime. Town staff said they were processing HCAs now to reflect the commission’s updated requirements.
Both agreements were approved by the board vote recorded in the meeting transcript; no roll-call tallies were recorded.
