Dickson County Commission approves FY2019–20 appropriations and sets property tax rate at $2.35

The commission approved Resolution 07-2019-01 to make appropriations across county funds, departments and agencies for FY2019–20. Commissioners passed Resolution 07-2019-02 to authorize appropriations to local non-profit charitable organizations for the same fiscal year; the minutes note the Dickson County Humane Society was removed from that resolution because its support is included in the sheriff's budget and the final resolution will reflect the change.
Commissioners then passed Resolution 07-2019-03 fixing the county tax levy at $2.35 per $100. The minutes give the levy breakdown as: General $1.02; Highway/Public Works $0.08; General Purpose School $0.78; General Debt Service $0.47. The record shows the tax-rate public hearing drew no speakers.
Separately, the commission approved Resolution 07-2019-04 to amend the official zoning map by rezoning a portion of Parcel 16.02 (Tax Map 093.00) from C-2 (Commercial) to R-2 (Residential) at the request of Allene and Ivy Armstrong Living Trust, LLC of High Lake Drive, Dickson. (Booty) Reed, Jr. County Commission Chamber at the Dickson County Courthouse.
