Commission appoints Gary Peeler to Planning Commission, elects Jeff Corlew for District 10 and approves list of notaries

At the Aug. 19 meeting the Dickson County Commission moved to fill several administrative and representative roles. Commissioner Jeff Spencer moved and Commissioner David Shepard seconded to appoint Gary Peeler to complete the District 9 term on the Planning Commission vacated by Tony Adams; the appointment passed by unanimous voice vote.
The commission also conducted a District 10 election. Nominations from Commissioner Linda Hayes produced a first-round tally showing Jeff Corlew with five votes, George Dufty four and Jewel Loggins one; a second round gave Jeff Corlew six votes to George Dufty’s four, electing Corlew to the District 10 seat.
County Clerk Luanne Greer presented a list of notaries for approval. Commissioner Clayton Ellis moved and Commissioner James C. Dawson seconded to approve the listed notaries; the motion passed by unanimous aye voice vote.
These administrative actions were recorded in the minutes and will be processed by county staff according to standard practice.
