The Cochran City Council opened its Aug. 13 meeting with two recognitions. Gary McCoy, president‑elect of the Georgia Association of Water Professionals, presented two Gold Awards honoring the city’s groundwater system and Well No. 2 for meeting strict water‑quality standards.
Fire Chief Brock Wilcher presented life‑saving awards to Sergeant Randy Brown and Firefighters Colton Kleinfeld and Quang Nguyen for their June 27 response that revived a young man in cardiac arrest. The chief credited training and quick actions for the successful outcome and commended the firefighters during the public presentation.
Both recognitions were presented in the meeting’s presentations section; no council action was required.
