At a City of Coolidge workshop on April 8, Mayor Pro Tem Melissa Johnson led a discussion of a proposed billboard presented in coordination with Ginny Neal. Council members reviewed a proposed location, the suggested $1,800 annual fee and potential impacts on city ordinances. The council requested a sketch showing the billboard’s size and placement and suggested considering city-owned property as an alternative site.
Council members also proposed using any revenue from the billboard to fund a community art workshop. No formal motion or vote on the billboard was recorded in the workshop minutes; the council asked staff to return with a sketch and additional information before taking action.
