Milford staff to begin OpenGov permitting rollout July 1; training and staffing updates provided

City staff told the Milford Inland Wetlands Agency on April 15 that the city will launch a new permitting platform, OpenGov, on July 1 and is scheduling weekly internal and vendor sessions to build application processes and train staff.
Mary Rose, delivering the staff report, said members should contact her if they have trouble signing up for required DEP training and that Taft is assisting at the zoning counter after the January loss of the zoning clerk. "We're going live on July 1st," Mary Rose said of the OpenGov implementation; she said departments will set aside one to two hours weekly internally and an hour and a half per week with the vendor to build and verify application workflows.
Mary Rose also reminded members about a mayor-led boards-and-commissions open house planned for mid-May (discussed as May 18 or May 16) to provide information for prospective volunteers, and she reiterated the agency's upcoming meeting schedule including a sidewalk site walk on April 29 and the next regular meeting on May 6.
The report outlined staffing limitations, the need for member training, and the citywide timeline for rolling out new permitting procedures; staff encouraged members to submit ideas for the open house and to raise any difficulties with DEP sign-ups so staff can coordinate with the agency.
