Danielsville council unanimously approves revised mobile-home ordinance

At a Feb. 24 work session, the Danielsville City Council gave second and final reading and approved a revised mobile-home ordinance.
Mayor Michael Wideman said residents should have received copies of the revised ordinance and answered one question from City resident Scott Clutter about minimum lot size. Wideman said the ordinance requires "at least 1 acre" for the sites he referenced in the Sherwood area. Wideman also said the change will allow "nicer, newer homes" to move into the area.
Council Member Dona Miller moved to approve the ordinance; Council Member Steve Russum seconded. The motion carried unanimously; the transcript records the outcome as unanimous but does not record a roll-call tally.
The meeting also included an update noting there was no new information from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and a brief public inquiry about extending gas service to a private property. City Clerk Kimberly Davis told the resident he would need easements from each neighboring property owner for new gas lines. Mayor Wideman said a nearby landowner had received a federal grant to clear and replant trees behind the resident's property.
The council adjourned at 6:37 p.m.
