The Bourne School Committee unanimously approved two facilities contracts at its May 7 meeting.
Kerrie Scofield moved to engage Gale Inc. as Owner’s Project Manager for removal of the Bourne Middle School roof solar installations; the motion, seconded by Kendellynn Gagne, passed by voice vote, 8–0–0. Committee members gave a separate unanimous voice vote to award the chiller replacement contract at Bourne Middle School to Enterprise Equipment after a motion by Kari MacRae and a second by Kendellynn Gagne.
Director of Business Services Jordan Geist had earlier summarized capital amendments and noted a package of capital requests voters supported, including a $50,000 allocation for solar decommissioning and additional funds for a chiller and other items. Geist said budget materials include a previously approved Article 6 amendment for a $95,000 chiller amendment and that NESDEC has been retained to produce a best-use-of-facilities study with a draft expected in late June.
Both motions passed without recorded opposition. The committee did not amend contract language on the floor; next steps include finalizing contractor agreements and project schedules.
