Harpersville’s Town Council met Jan. 20 at the Harpersville Community Center and approved routine business and three formal resolutions, all passed by unanimous voice vote. Council actions included hiring authority for up to two part-time firefighters, a library copier lease with Kyocera, and authorization for the town clerk to open credit on behalf of the town.
The meeting opened at 5:30 p.m. with Mayor Pro Tem William Carter calling the session to order. Councilmember Martin Dates moved to approve the meeting agenda as written; Councilmember Malynda McLaughlin seconded and Carter declared the motion passed unanimously. Councilmember Beverly Johnson then moved to approve the Jan. 5, 2026 minutes; Councilmember Dates seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
During routine business the Town Clerk/Treasurer presented invoices. Councilmember Dates moved to approve all invoices as submitted; Councilmember Beverly Johnson seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
