Stockbridge council approves $126,270 in bills, three contracts and an employee pay increase

The Village of Stockbridge Council on Nov. 4 approved routine expenditures and three contracts, and after a closed-session personnel evaluation approved an employee contract that raises salary to $74,200.00.
The council voted unanimously to pay $126,269.96 in bills, with the roll call recording ayes from Mullins, Cattell, Morehouse, Fairbotham, Howlett, Powers-Taylor and Ogden. The motion to pay the bills was made by Cattell and supported by Mullins.
Council members also approved a road closure for the Festival of Lights on Nov. 30 at 6:00 p.m.; Howlett moved the measure, supported by Mullins, to close the route described in the staff request from S.A.E.S.A. to the Township Hall to Stockbridge High School. The motion passed on a unanimous voice vote.
The council approved a contract with Woodhill Group with paragraph 11-D struck after a motion by Howlett, supported by Cattell. The body recorded a unanimous roll-call vote on that contract.
On utilities, Morehouse moved and Cattell supported approval of a Water & Sewer Operations Service Contract with Great Lakes Water, with the stipulation that in-house lab testing be used first when applicable; the contract passed on a unanimous roll-call vote.
At the employee's request the council entered a closed session to discuss a personnel evaluation and reconvened about eight minutes later. Following the closed session, Powers-Taylor moved, supported by Cattell, to approve an employee contract that sets salary at $74,200.00 and specifies no additional increase until Nov. 8, 2026. The motion passed on a unanimous roll-call vote.
The minutes record a discussion item under utilities billing regarding auditing accounts (item C1) but do not show a formal motion or directive on that item.
The meeting concluded with council members and the village attorney expressing appreciation for Mullins's more than 13 years of service. The council adjourned at 8:54 p.m.
