Members agreed to contact Christine Farrugia, Robin Cousens and Jack Joslyn to confirm availability for a special meeting to vote on a scholarship winner; Gervais and Patton indicated they may exclude themselves from that discussion and decision. No scholarship winner was named at the March 5 meeting.
Heather Nickerson, identified in the minutes as Sterling principal, submitted two classroom proposals with budgets from fourth-, seventh- and eighth-grade teachers. The commission expressed continued support for the Agriculture in the Classroom program and said it would reimburse for supplies if proposals move forward.
The commission also set Farm Day for May 18 at SCS. The tentative schedule listed an indoor start at 8:45 a.m., outdoor activities beginning at 9:05 a.m., and activities wrapping up by approximately 2:10 p.m. Members said final plans will be finalized at the April meeting.
