The Saugatuck City Council on Dec. 9 approved several routine items by unanimous vote, including the consent agenda, accounts payable, a change to park reservation rules and the calendar of meetings for 2025.
The consent agenda — which included approval of the Nov. 25, 2024 meeting minutes, Change Order #1 to the TMF Water Service Material Verification Agreement with Compton Inc., and an amendment to the Comcast franchise agreement to update a legal name — was approved on a motion by Councilmember Dean and second by Councilmember Clark; the motion carried 6-0 via roll call vote.
Councilmember Gardner moved, and Councilmember Peterson seconded, approval of accounts payable in the amount of $163,045.08; the roll-call vote was recorded as 6-0 in favor.
On new business, the council approved an amendment to the Coghlin Park policy changing the reservation window language from 'Reservations may not be made for the future calendar' to allow reservations up to two calendar years in advance (motion by Muncey, second by Clark; roll call 6-0).
The council also adopted Resolution 241209-A establishing meeting dates for the year 2025 (motion by Dean, second by Peterson; roll call 6-0).
City Manager Ryan Cummins updated the council on financial and planning items earlier in the meeting, saying auditors had submitted minor questions that were addressed, preliminary financial statements were expected that week and a strategic-planning workshop with a confirmed facilitator will be held on Jan. 24.
The meeting adjourned at 7:49 p.m. following a unanimous motion to adjourn.
