Saugatuck City Council approves consent agenda, $258,537.55 in bills and committee appointments

The Saugatuck City Council approved routine business and committee appointments at its Nov. 25 regular meeting, voting unanimously to adopt the consent agenda and to pay $258,537.55 in invoices.
The consent agenda included the Nov. 12 regular meeting minutes, Resolution 241125-A authorizing city officers to act as official signatories, a Planning Commission appointment and a change order for 2024 asphalt repairs. Mayor Pro-Tem Lauren Stanton moved to approve the consent agenda; Councilmember Gardner seconded and the roll-call vote carried unanimously.
Accounts payable totaling $258,537.55 were approved on a motion by Mayor Pro-Tem Stanton with a second from Councilmember Joe Clark; the roll-call vote was unanimous. The council also acted on organizational appointments: Councilmember Scott Dean moved, and Mayor Pro-Tem Stanton seconded, to appoint Stanton to the Parks & Public Works Committee, appoint Joe Clark to the Water and Sewer Systems Operations Contract Advisory Committee, reappoint Scott Dean to the Blue Star Trail Committee and appoint Chris Peterson to the Harbor Authority. That motion passed on a unanimous roll-call vote.
City Manager Ryan Cummins previewed an upcoming strategic planning workshop that will review the annual community survey and consider changes to survey questions and facilitation. Earlier in the meeting Mayor Anderson welcomed returning Councilmember Peterson and reminded residents of the community tree-lighting event and other seasonal programming.
The meeting adjourned at 7:38 p.m.
