City Manager Mark Musselwhite said the bid would cover milling and resurfacing sections of Laurel Avenue, Alabama Street, Florida Street, Johnny Mize Road, Fisk Avenue and a speed bump on Double Springs. Musselwhite proposed either using Road, Streets and Bridges SPLOST funds to cover the shortfall or working with staff to adjust the list to offset the difference.
The work session record does not show a formal acceptance of the bid or a motion to award; staff indicated they would either identify alternate funding or adjust the project scope.
