Contractor says Pleasant Grove owes payment on walking-trail work; council moves to executive session

Lauren Blair identified herself as representing the general contractor and said the company "has not been paid for our services in full and I have been contacting the mayor and several of the council members with no response." After Blair spoke, the mayor and the city attorney said the claim raised issues appropriate for a closed meeting.
Mr. Larry Cooper, the council's newly appointed city attorney, stated he had met with the mayor in October and had received documentation from the contractor and others. The mayor then said the council would "go into executive session" to address the matter. A procedural motion to move into executive session was made and seconded; the council voted to close the meeting.
The council did not record a resolution or outcome in the public transcript; the executive-session discussion and any decision or settlement, if reached, would not be public under the closed-session protocol until and unless the council chooses to disclose the outcome.
