Vivian Zeng explained that recent calibration issues with the automated chlorination system were caused by new equipment in the filtration room that required staff training and adjustments. Victor Garofalo added that two computer systems were replaced as part of ongoing maintenance at an estimated cost of about $10,000 each.
Staff reported that high impact readings on the playground PIP (pour‑in‑place) surface at Haskell required closure of certain areas; repairs are expected in March or April and are expected to proceed under warranty. Victor said weather conditions have affected materials and the playground and some fields will remain closed until spring.
Next steps: staff will return with a revised playground design in March, incorporate Commission on Disability feedback, and continue work on programming needs and the Fairbank room booking system.
