Commission approves pavilion, renovations and windows; continues several applications

The Dennis Old Kings Highway Regional Historic District Commission approved several routine applications including a detached semi-open pavilion at 154 Beech Street, window replacements at 11 Goldfinch Lane, and exterior renovations at 4 Third Street. Commissioners said the proposals were appropriate in scale and mostly not visible from the street.
Eric Tolley presented the pavilion proposal for 154 Beech Street and the commission approved it after noting site placement and partial enclosure to mitigate sound for neighbors. Matthew Hunter represented window renovations at 11 Goldfinch Lane; members discussed the applicant’s AI-generated renderings and confirmed the work had not been completed; the application was approved as submitted.
Patrick Jacobs presented renovation plans for 4 Third Street. An abutter asked for an engineering review and raised concerns about septic and shared foundation, but the commission said those structural and septic matters are outside its historic purview and must be addressed with the building and zoning departments; the commission approved the aesthetic/renovation components of the application.
The board also continued two sign applications for M and B Ohana LLC (700 Route 6A, Unit B) to May 27 because the applicant did not appear, and it continued approval of the April 22 minutes to the next meeting.
