The Village of Springport council on March 13 adopted Resolution 25-4 appointing individuals to committee positions, accepted an engagement letter with municipal finance advisors Bendzinski & Co., and authorized a $12,635 payment to CEI for a reliability study and general plan.
The appointments were approved by motion of Council member C. Ward, seconded by Severns. A roll call vote recorded ayes from C. Ward, Severns, President Joshua Barnette, K. Bartley, Cavazos and A. Ward; J. Bartley was noted absent. The council recorded the motion as carried and the resolution adopted.
On the municipal finance item, Council member Severns moved, and C. Ward seconded, to accept the engagement letter with Bendzinski & Co. The council voted in favor by roll call (Severns, C. Ward, Barnette, K. Bartley, Cavazos, A. Ward — ayes); J. Bartley was absent. The engagement was accepted as written.
Council then considered payment for a CEI Reliability Study and General Plan invoice. Council member Severns moved and K. Bartley seconded to authorize Manager Saylors to pay CEI in the amount of $12,635. The roll call vote recorded ayes from Severns, K. Bartley, Barnette, Cavazos, A. Ward and C. Ward with J. Bartley absent, and the motion carried.
Manager Saylors was authorized to carry out the payment; the record does not include further contract details or the funding source for the invoice. Council also noted an engagement letter from Gabridge & Co. that requires signatures from Manager Saylors and President Barnette.
The council adjourned at 8:29 p.m. and announced upcoming meetings on April 8 and April 10, 2025.
