Trustees review Lothrop space assessment and note $20,000 previously budgeted for windows; decision tabled

At the Jan. 12, 2026 meeting the Deep River Public Library Board of Trustees reviewed the Lothrop Associates Space and Functional Needs Assessment and discussed next steps for public feedback.
Chair Donna Mingrone invited comments and recommended posting the proposed plans on the library website to solicit community input. Trustee Angus MacDonald reported that at least two town budgets included a combined $20,000 set aside to replace library windows and stated that the funding "should still be available." No action was taken on the assessment; the matter was tabled until the February meeting for further consideration.
The board also noted that staff will continue to gather clarifying details and that posting the plans online was a planned follow-up task. The item will be revisited at the next scheduled meeting.
