Oakland committee reviews remaining discipline categories, sets July 22 follow-up

Most of these sections were presented with current ranges; members asked for modest adjustments in some cases (for example, broader first-offense ranges for some misdemeanor-related items and alignment of ranges across similar categories) but reserved major changes for items flagged by staff or legal counsel. The committee emphasized chief discretion to aggravate beyond matrix ranges where aggravating factors apply (time-in-service, egregious facts, or collated violations).
Committee members agreed to review the meeting materials by email, flag items that appear out of step with the rest of the matrix, and return on July 22 for a short follow-up to finish remaining items. The chair thanked participants and closed the meeting.
