The Guilford Board of Education voted to approve its June 2024 financial reports and warrants after an operations-committee review showing expenditures and encumbrances near full-year levels.
An operations committee presenter summarized that expenditures through the end of June were about 99.79% of the budget (compared with 99.94% in the prior year). The presenter said June revenue totaled $7,881, including amounts listed in the packet as $734.193 for Medicaid, $37.80 for nonresident tuition and $2,150 for a magnet transportation grant. The board was told salaries and employee benefits were in line with the prior year, while purchases, supplies and transportation expense categories were higher; capital expenditures were lower.
The presenter said the district’s business office will continue closing out 2023–24 activity and may propose budget transfers in August to finalize the year. After the summary, the board moved and approved the financial reports and warrants.
The board chair called for public comment on the agenda but noted no members of the public were present. The motion to approve the financial reports passed unanimously.
