United Way given OK to place Little Free Pantry at Mulberry police grounds

The Mulberry board voted 4-0 to allow United Way for Clinton County to install a Little Free Pantry on the grassy area near the Mulberry Police Department.
Corey Faulkner, assistant director of United Way for Clinton County, described the small pantry boxes—constructed by Clinton Central High School students—and outlined maintenance plans: a county committee of students and staff will check and help restock boxes monthly or bimonthly, and United Way will remove or replace a box if vandalized. The group proposed the police department site as a central, visible location and gave proposed installation dates (May 21–22).
Council members asked about utility locates before digging and were told United Way will call locates and coordinate with Jason, the staff contact. The board made a motion to permit the installation, which passed 4-0. Council requested that United Way provide a contact number and coordinate post-installation maintenance and trimming with the town.
The approval covers placement of the pantry box (a 4x4 post set in concrete) and does not transfer ongoing maintenance responsibilities to the town; United Way affirmed it will handle upkeep and removal if damaged.
