The commission also voted to engage Gooden & Company to inspect the former bank building in Ashworth ($2,250) and to contract Bearfield LLC to perform HVAC test-and-balance work at the jail ($11,300), each action approved by voice vote and flagged as requiring a budget amendment where noted.
The sheriff also proposed contracting with Corey Reagan to repair a damaged gate at the jail (quote: $9,873) and asked the commission to adopt a resolution to use opioid funds to purchase inmate medical monitoring systems and wrist bands from Reassurance Solutions, a five-year purchase totaling $18,050 pending review by the county attorney and auditor. Commissioners approved the purchases and noted the expenditure of opioid funds would move forward subject to the attorney and auditor’s confirmation of allowable use.
Several items listed as equipment or professional services will require budget amendments; commissioners approved scheduling a FY27 budget work session to discuss broader budget items. The commission did not set construction dates for the potential addition; staff will report back with more detailed cost and scheduling information.
