Waterford selectmen reappoint commissioners, approve tax refund and amend meeting minutes

The board also appointed Eric Ven Benudi to the Recreation and Parks Commission and arranged for swearing-in with town staff.
On a separate agenda item the board considered a foreclosed property at 207 Boston Post Road (aka 1 Tiffany Avenue). Staff explained the town obtained title after a tax-foreclosure process and that prior auction attempts with a posted $80,000 minimum drew no bidders. "We're going to re-auction it without a minimum bid and hope that... the market will speak," staff said. Discussion noted that combined taxes, sewer and fees owed were described in the meeting as "mid-80s," that an interested buyer had offered a figure in the mid-60s but could not be accepted because of the prior advertised minimum, and that the property's unsafe condition and holding costs weigh against long-term retention. The board voted to re-auction the property and noted the RTM will review the disposition after an auction sale.
The board approved a tax refund in the amount of $135,455.92 and accepted a series of regular and budget meeting minutes (several of which were amended to correct arrival/roll-call times and to record motions and budget-line changes). The meeting closed following the board's votes to accept the amended minutes and adjourn.
