Committee to review draft Housing chapter; staff attended CCAPA briefing on HB8002

J. Kaufman, Director of Planning and Development, reported that staff had received a first draft of Chapter 7 (Housing) of the Town’s Plan of Conservation and Development and that the chapter is under staff review; the draft will be distributed to the Affordable Housing Committee for comment.
In the staff report, Kaufman and Committee member Paul Stern said they attended a Connecticut Chapter of the American Planning Association (CCAPA) conference on HB8002 on Jan. 22; the minutes include a link to conference presentations for Committee members to review. The Committee scheduled its next meeting for March 5, 2026 at 5 p.m. The minutes also list C.G.S. 8-30g on the future-agenda items.
No votes or formal actions on the POCD chapter or related policy were recorded at the meeting; staff and Committee members will review the draft chapter before it is considered by the Committee.
