The Town of Mansfield Arts Advisory Committee announced details and promotional plans for its spring Juried Art Show and related Plein Air events during its Feb. 4 meeting.
Committee members reviewed application materials and promotional copy that will appear in the town’s spring brochure, including a QR code to apply. Minutes note that the artists-notification date on the current application is incorrect and needs correction; staff and members agreed that artist-reception information should be added to all promotional materials rather than only to voting flyers.
The juried exhibition is listed in the committee’s calendar as running April 11–May 30, 2026, with a reception scheduled for May 22, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Mansfield Community Center. The minutes state that all artists who displayed work in Mansfield over the past year are invited to attend and that award presentations to juried-show winners and judges will take place during the reception.
The committee’s schedule also lists Plein Air event dates on May 16, May 18 and May 28, 2026, with a related display period noted as June 7–Aug. 15, 2026. The group discussed logistics for voting and artist reception details, and staff noted that application fees for the juried show will help offset event costs.
Members reviewed several current applicant updates: "Gaye" is currently displaying at the library; "Frank" has applied for March and was asked to submit additional images for approval; and "Keenan" has submitted one work and may submit more. The committee asked staff to confirm image requirements and notification timelines before publishing the corrected application.
The committee provided a contact for questions and absences (burnsb@mansfieldct.org) and set its next meeting for March 4, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at the Mansfield Community Center.
