Granby officials push for more oversight of Pathfinder vocational program after proposed 5% increase

The committee discussed drafting a letter (modeled on one another district had used) asking Pathfinder to provide more detailed budget documentation and to appear for a presentation. The Superintendent said the district sends a significant number of students to Pathfinder — committee discussion referenced dozens of students — and stressed that oversight is important because member districts are responsible for those tuition costs.
Committee members agreed to circulate a proposed letter for review and to reach out to Pathfinder’s regional representative to request a future presentation. They emphasized the request is not a motion to reject Pathfinder’s budget but an effort to ensure sending districts have adequate information before voting on regional budgets.
The committee did not vote; members agreed to prepare correspondence and asked staff to follow up on scheduling a presentation by the regional program.
