Misty Murdock moved and Kyle Provencher seconded the motion to use the non‑lapsing fund for the access road; the board approved the expenditure unanimously. The board also approved monthly check authorization on a unanimous motion.
Christine Clark, manager of business affairs, presented the November financial report. Clark said the budget is tracking as expected overall but noted pressures: salaries in transportation and substitute staffing are challenging and special education outplacements are over budget. A quarterly projection will be provided in January. Board members asked about athletics budget reporting; Clark said athletics is shown in the budget book by line item.
Superintendent Dr. Susan Nash gave a budget kickoff, reviewing last year’s budget cuts, estimated board of education revenue, the addition of sending schools, and an increase in the VoAg grant. Board members discussed whether Board of Education revenue should be shown on the school side of the budget rather than as an offset to the town budget.
What happens next: The district will proceed with the access road project using approved non‑lapsing funds and provide a January projection update to the board.
