The Killingly Board of Education approved a field trip request for the Killingly High School music department to travel to New York City and New Jersey April 23–26, 2026.
Jason Largent presented the trip, saying it will include workshops and sightseeing. Jennifer Thompson, KHS Music Booster treasurer, told the board that boosters have raised $7,000 to offset costs; the transcript reports an out-of-pocket cost for students of $850.
A motion to approve the trip, made by Kyle Provencher and seconded by Meredith Gianbattista, carried unanimously.
Next steps: Trip organizers will finalize logistics and provide any required participant forms and chaperone information to families and district administration.
