The Sudbury Zoning Board of Appeals on March 2 was told that a vehicle storage problem at a Volvo repair facility on Boston Post Road remains only partially resolved. Building Inspector Andrew Lewis reported that the owner has verbally reported 81 vehicles (about 10 of them personal) but has not provided a written inventory, and snow and weather have hampered removal efforts.
Chair John Riordan and other board members said the town needs documented progress. The board directed the Building Inspector to continue follow‑up and to send a strong written demand to the owner; if sufficient progress is not shown by the board’s April meeting, members said they would consider escalating enforcement, including daily fines.
Lewis told the board inspectors had observed only limited movement of vehicles. The board asked staff to return evidence of documented removal at the April meeting or to begin enforcement steps, giving the owner a clear deadline and a potential penalty pathway.
The board’s action on the report was procedural direction to staff rather than a formal sanction at this meeting. The Building Inspector will report back at the next regular ZBA meeting with any updated inventory or proof of progress.
