City staff report progress on lead line inventory, sewer repairs and pool leak

During the Sept. 11 council meeting, City Clerk Stacy Gibbs and public works staff updated the council on ongoing administrative and maintenance activities.
Gibbs reported that city staff are compiling a lead service line inventory required by the EPA with an October deadline. She also said bid requests were mailed to log roughly 200 trees at Lake Park, and that the Board of Adjustment met Sept. 10 to consider three requests. IMWCA conducted the annual audit at city hall with Gibbs and Jared Chambers.
Public Works reported that recent hires are performing well, Municipal Pipe will increase sewer line spot repairs beginning the week of Sept. 16, and ditching projects are underway. The city pool is closed for the season, but staff are monitoring a leak; ACCO is scheduled to return in October to attempt to locate the leak and to update opening and closing procedures for the pool.
The minutes do not attach dollar amounts to the lead inventory work or the tree-logging bids; the clerk and public works staff provided operational updates rather than action items requiring additional council approval.
