Chaplin P&Z hears brief infrastructure updates; liquor license transfer requested and vice-chair resigns

At the June 12 meeting the Chaplin Planning & Zoning Commission received several brief local updates and administrative notes.
Officials said a new bridge in town remains closed because paving needs to be redone. The commission also heard that a newly paved fire pond needs an additional coat of pavement and that the Fire Department has approved adding fish to the pond. Commissioners were told culverts will be added to the bridge on South Bear Hill Road near the cemetery rather than rerouting the road.
Zoning Enforcement Officer Jay Gigliotti reported that a request had been received to transfer the liquor license for the 187 Willimantic Road package store; Chair Doug Dubitsky said he would follow up with the owner. Gigliotti also presented the monthly zoning report and stated that no permits were issued during the reporting period.
Chair Doug Dubitsky publicly thanked Vice-Chair Ken Fortier for his time and dedication to the Planning & Zoning Commission and noted Fortiers resignation as he prepares to move to Virginia.
The commission adjourned at 8:50 p.m.
