The Bloomington City Council took the following formal actions on June 29, 2026 (all votes noted were 6‑0 unless otherwise indicated):
Seagate Technology preliminary and final development plans (Item 3.10): Mayor Tim Bussey highlighted Seagate’s planned addition of about 64,000 square feet to its semiconductor manufacturing facility. Council approved the development plans as part of the consent agenda (motion carries 6‑0).
Adora affordable housing — resolution supporting TIF and letter of intent (Item 3.12): Council member D'Alessandro moved to adopt a resolution supporting tax increment financing assistance for the Adora affordable housing project and to authorize executing a letter of intent to purchase between the city and JO Companies; the motion passed (6‑0).
Acceptance of donations (Item 3.1): Council member Robertson moved to accept a list of donations (including contributions from Normandale Community College, Mall of America, League of Women Voters of Bloomington, the Bloomington Leadership Program cohort and Walmart) and to direct staff to send thank‑you letters; the council approved the item (6‑0).
Urban Forest Master Plan adoption (Item 5.1): Council member Robertson moved and council member Lohman seconded a motion to approve and adopt the Urban Forest Master Plan and to direct staff to act consistent with it; the council adopted the plan unanimously (6‑0).
Item 3.15 (development/garage setback matter): After staff review and questions raised during a listening session, Council member Nelson moved to table item 3.15 until the July 20 meeting to gather additional information; the council voted to table the item (6‑0).
Notes on procedure: In each case where a motion was made, the mayor called the vote and recorded results as part of the meeting minutes. Several items were taken from the consent agenda; others required separate motions or clarification from staff.
