Hancock County supervisors approve canvass; Democrats nominate no county candidates

The Hancock County Board of Supervisors approved a canvass of the June 2, 2026 primary election at its adjourned session on June 9 in Garner.
On a motion by Supervisor Florence "Sis" Greiman, seconded by Supervisor Gary Rayhons, the board gave approval to the canvass, which records nominations for county offices for the upcoming general election. The minutes state that the Democratic Party nominated no candidates for county board of supervisors (two seats), county treasurer, county recorder, or county attorney. The Republican nominees listed for the General Election were Florence "Sis" Greiman and Gary Rayhons for the two supervisor seats; Linda Juhl for county treasurer; Tracy L. Marshall for county recorder; and Rachel Martinez for county attorney.
Earlier in the session the board approved the tentative agenda on a motion by Rayhons, seconded by Greiman, and approved the June 8, 2026 minutes on a motion by Greiman, seconded by Rayhons. Supervisor Gary Rayhons moved to adjourn at 8:56 a.m.; the motion carried with all supervisors present voting "Aye." The minutes state the board will meet again on June 15, 2026. The minutes were attested by Auditor Michelle K. Eisenman and signed by Chair Osmund "Bud" Jermeland.
