Council approves $23,930 park engineering scope, school‑hour traffic change and other routine items

Mayor Jason Knickman called the Oct. 9 City Council meeting to order at 7 p.m. and the council moved quickly through routine business, approving the agenda, the Sept. 11 minutes, payment of bills and a consent agenda of building permits.
The council approved a $23,930 engineering scope with McClures for work at Pleasant View Park after a motion by Council member Bonsall and a second from Council member Schauer. Council members voted in favor, and the motion carried.
Also during the meeting the council approved several operational items: Petersen’s was authorized to install a sprinkler on city property (motion by Council member Murphy, second by Council member Wingrove); the city will purchase a truck mat and bed liner (motion by Council member Gunia, second by Council member Schauer); and the council approved a designated parking spot for Klein Senior Insurance after Jayne Klein requested the space (motion by Council member Gunia, second by Council member Wingrove). All motions were approved with "all in favor" recorded in the minutes.
On traffic and safety, the council voted to make Eaton Street one‑way from 12th Street and 11th Street to Eagle Street during school hours. The change was approved after a motion by Council member Schauer and a second by Council member Wingrove.
The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn by Council member Gunia, seconded by Council member Murphy; the meeting ended at 7:57 p.m.
