Dike council orders $36,000 in pool renderings, approves playground repair and shelter quotes to come

The Dike City Council voted on Nov. 12 to proceed with pool design renderings by Bolten & Menk at a cost of $36,000. Councilmember Feaker made the motion, Camarata seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
The council also approved purchase of a replacement bubble piece for playground equipment at the city park for $970 (motion by Lynch) and discussed changing the footprint of the city park shelter; staff was directed to obtain quotes and bring them back for council review at the next meeting.
Separately, the council approved a $1,200 quote from Albers Construction to replace concrete in front of the warehouse on 1st Street; the superintendent reported recent small maintenance items including fixing a water leak on Fairway Drive, repairing the hydrant used for water testing, and installing an illegal-dumping sign at Scout Park.
The pool proposal phase appears to be moving into design; the minutes record the authorization for renderings but do not include the full scope, timeline or funding source for the proposed pool.
