Dexter council authorizes insurance-limits decision, clerk phone purchase and routine business

At its Nov. 3 meeting the Dexter City Council completed routine business and approved several administrative measures.
By motion of Councilmember Diane O’Connor, seconded by Casey Erwin, the council authorized the City of Dexter to not waive the monetary limits on municipal tort liability established by Minn. Stat. § 466.04; the minutes record the vote as unanimous. The action preserves the statutory monetary-liability limits for the city in the upcoming insurance renewal.
The council discussed maintenance needs with Gary Schroeder (the minutes do not specify projects or dollar amounts) and authorized Clerk Natalie Carroll to purchase a city cell phone and pay for the phone upfront following a motion by O’Connor and second by Christian Padilla.
Earlier in the meeting the council approved paying the November bills and accepted the October minutes and financial statements on a motion by O’Connor, seconded by Erwin. The meeting adjourned on a motion by Padilla, seconded by Erwin. The minutes were signed by Clerk Natalie Carroll.
