Washington County supervisors approve two Orange Avenue easements, Environmental Health personnel changes and retail tobacco permit

The Washington County Board of Supervisors on June 16 unanimously approved two permanent public highway easements along Orange Avenue in Jackson Township, signed personnel actions in Environmental Health and granted a retail cigarette, tobacco, nicotine and vapor permit to Four Corners Fuel.
The Board adopted Resolution No. 26-17, accepting an easement from Friese Brothers Partnership in Section 29-76-7 for $1,229.17 covering roughly 0.23 acres (0.14 acres already existing right-of-way), and Resolution No. 26-18, accepting an easement in Section 28-76-7 for $1,365.74 covering roughly 0.24 acres (0.14 acres existing right-of-way). The Chairperson was authorized to sign both resolutions. The motions carried by roll call vote, with supervisors present voting unanimously; one supervisor was absent.
The Board approved a personnel change request terminating Environmental Health Specialist Aimie Fries effective June 12, 2026 (motion by Marcus Fedler; second by Bob Yoder). It also approved hiring Specialist Lynda Morris effective June 15, 2026, at $23.00 per hour (motion by Stan Stoops; second by Bob Yoder).
The Board approved and authorized the Chair to sign a State of Iowa Retail Cigarette, Tobacco, Nicotine, Vapor Permit for Ainsworth Four Corners, LLC d/b/a Four Corners Fuel, effective July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027 (motion by Marcus Fedler; second by Bob Yoder).
All motions at the meeting were recorded as passing unanimously unless otherwise noted. The meeting convened at 9:00 a.m. at Orchard Hill and adjourned at 9:13 a.m.
