Dexter City Council approves bills, building permit, gambling application and water shut-off notices

At its Oct. 6 meeting the Dexter City Council voted unanimously to pay October bills and approve September minutes and financials; approved a 23 x 16-foot rear patio for Twisted Scissors; approved a gambling application for the Dexter Community Club with no waiting period; and authorized shut-off notices for four delinquent water accounts.
The Dexter City Council on Oct. 6 approved routine business and several motions by unanimous vote.
Council member Diane O’Connor moved, with Casey Erwin seconding, to pay the October bills and to approve the September minutes and financial statements as presented; the motion passed with 'All yeas.' Later, the council approved a building permit for Twisted Scissors to add a 23 x 16-foot cement patio at the rear of the salon after a motion by O’Connor and a second by Christian Padilla; that motion also passed with 'All yeas.'
Diane O’Connor, speaking for the Dexter Community Club, requested approval of a gambling application to allow the club to hold gambling within city limits with no waiting period. Casey Erwin moved to approve the gambling application, Tim Taylor seconded, and the council approved the request with 'All yeas.'
On utility collections, the council reviewed delinquent water bills and voted, on a motion by Tim Taylor seconded by Christian Padilla, to issue shut-off notices to accounts for Josh Gesell, Cody Thorn, Byrant Westrom and Xcel Energy; the motion passed with 'All yeas.'
The meeting concluded when Christian Padilla moved to adjourn, Tim Taylor seconded, and the council voted to adjourn. No roll-call vote details were recorded; the minutes state the outcome as 'All yeas.'
