Deerwood City Council unanimously approves organization, fee and administrative items

At its Jan. 5 meeting the Deerwood City Council unanimously approved organization assignments, a new fee schedule, adopted a county hazard mitigation plan by resolution, and approved facility and equipment purchases, all by voice vote.
On Jan. 5, 2026, the Deerwood City Council unanimously approved a package of routine administrative measures and equipment purchases.
The council approved Resolution 2026-01-0105 assigning organization roles and Resolution 2026-02-0105 adopting the city fee schedule. The consent agenda — which included approval of the Dec. 15, 2025 meeting minutes, claims and Resolution 2026-03-0105 to adopt the Crow Wing County Hazard Mitigation Plan — also carried on a unanimous voice vote.
Council members voted together on several operational items. The council approved installation of a lock box on the auditorium door for use by the Pickleball association, adopting the recommendation of Fire Chief Bodle that the city control the box and purchase a more secure unit to be reimbursed by Pickleball. The council also approved purchase of a replacement salt-and-sand spreader for the public works truck; Public Works Supervisor Patrick Radke estimated the cost at about $2,000.
All recorded motions and votes were carried with Mayor John V. Taylor and Council Members Aulie, Ingersoll, Millsop and Voller voting aye on each item.
The council set its next regular meeting for Feb. 2, 2026.
