After convening in executive session to interview a candidate for the PreK–5 Supervisor of Special Education, the New Milford Board of Education returned to public session and voted unanimously to appoint Kristen Phillips, effective July 1, 2025.
Chair Leslie Sarich made the motion to enter executive session for the interview; invited participants included Superintendent Dr. Janet Parlato, Director of Human Services Teresa Kavanagh, incoming Director of Student Services Dr. Kim Culkin, and the candidate (virtually). The appointment motion was moved by Mr. Hansell, seconded by Mr. McCauley, and passed without dissent.
The board recorded the appointment in open session; payroll and onboarding details were not discussed in public.
