Eagle Lake authorizes HVAC compressor and plow repairs

The council approved two maintenance contracts: a $3,000 bid from Skogen Mechanical to replace an obsolete compressor in the City Hall kitchenette heat pump, and a $9,410 bid from Crysteel Truck Equipment to repair a damaged plow wing.
Administrator Bromeland said Schwickert’s (the city’s long-term heating and cooling contractor) determined the compressor failed internally and the part is obsolete; the city solicited a second quote and accepted Skogen’s price. Public Works Director Andrew Hartman said the plow encountered roadside debris, producing damage; council approved Crysteel’s $9,410 quote and staff estimated repairs will take one to two weeks.
Council Member White moved and Council Member Lewis seconded the Skogen compressor motion; Council Member Rohrich moved and Council Member White seconded the Crysteel motion. Both motions carried with Council Members Steinberg, Rohrich, White, Lewis, and Mayor Whitington voting in favor.
